Heat Treatment
International shipping using wood pallets calls for special treatment of your pallets prior to use. To control the spread of invasive wood boring insects from one region to another, pallets must be heat treated according international IPPC regulations to meet ISPM 15 standards. Pallets Direct can help! We can heat treat almost all classes of pallets including New, Recycled and Combo pallets. Pallets are heat treated and stamped with the internationally-recognized IPPC HT Stamp for authentication.

Stencils and Markings
If your JIT and material handling needs include identification of pallets by type or size, Pallets Direct can help! We will stencil stringer sides or color code (painting) stringer tips. to your specifications.
Common stencils include: Company names, logos, pallet size, dates, or facility.
Common color-coding practices include: Color-coding pallets by size or type. Options include coloring either one stringer or multiple, either on one end or both.
Engineering and Design
Pallets Direct can help you with the design of standard and custom pallets for your unique application. Our team of seasoned professionals, led by your account manager, will work to understand your application and even visit your facility, interview appropriate team members, and analyze material handling and storage requirements. Pallets Direct engineering personnel will then design a pallet that suits your specific need. We can even use CAD pallet software to test various pallet design options and load strengths if necessary.
Pallet Inventory Management
Pallets are essential to shipping your finished products. Unfortunately, they are often located in places like the back dock and outdoors where they are harder to track. When pallets run low, shipments can get delayed and schedules disrupted. Pallets Direct can help! We proactively assist our customers in keeping track of their pallet inventory by:
Reminders – Pallets Direct will learn to anticipate your pallet needs and enter this into our scheduling database. We can contact your staff at agreed upon intervals (daily, weekly, monthly) via email, text, or phone call to check on pallet inventory levels. Should the inventory be critically low, we can arrange for rush deliveries and then plan for the week or month ahead, as appropriate.
Site visits – In some situations it may be best to have Pallets Direct personnel make on site visits to your facility to monitor actual pallet inventories. Our staff will count pallets and match this against you order history. Based on procedures made in advance with each customer, we can either bring in additional loads or consult with your team members as to the appropriate action.
Inventory on hand – New, Custom and Non-standard pallets often have longer delivery lead-times than standard 48X40 recycled pallets. Although rare, lead-times at times can be as long as one month under extreme industry wide conditions. Pallets Direct we can help ease the fear of running out of pallets. In many cases, we can keep a reserve load of your pallets in inventory at our facility and ship them to you in a pinch. We will then immediately work to replace the reserve load on our yard.
